April 2nd - Shana Wagner
Moving Matters! Learn the BrainDance for Yourself and Your Students
The BrainDance is a set of movement patterns that mirror the movements used for brain development. Doing these movements throughout life continues strengthening and integrating the body and the brain. At this workshop, you will learn several versions of the BrainDance and ways to use new movement ideas in your music classrooms. The day will be planned to give you a variety of experiences while balancing the activities in a safe, comfortable, interesting and fun learning environment. Wear comfortable clothes and plan to participate.
Shana Wagner teaches elementary music and has been involved in the Minnesota Orff chapter since 1972. She has levels training from the U of MN and Hamline U. She studied with Anne Green Gilbert, creator of the BrainDance™ and 5 Part Lesson Plan, attending the Brain-Compatible Dance Education Summer Dance Institute for Teachers in 2007 and 2008.
